22nd August 2025 – The Director of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Tuan Joseph Benjamin, together with Puan Vivien Thien, Executive Officer, visited the Sabah Agro-Industrial Park (SAIP) to gain first-hand insight into the park’s operations and its role in the state’s industrial development.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Encik Annef Osyairi, General Manager of SAIP Sdn Bhd, and Puan Mariyam Gambur, Deputy General Manager, at the SAIP Office.
A short briefing session was conducted for the MIDA delegation, with the participation of several SAIP tenants. The session aimed to provide a clearer understanding of MIDA’s incentives and support mechanisms particularly those related to tax exemptions for entrepreneurs operating within the industrial park.
Following the briefing, the delegates visited SAIP’s anchor tenant to observe their activities and better understand their contribution to the wider agro-industrial ecosystem.
The visit marked a meaningful step toward enhancing collaboration between MIDA and SAIP, especially in supporting investment and entrepreneurship in Sabah’s agro-industrial sector.
